A bit about me.

  • As a Design Researcher, I work at the intersection of research and strategy. I help organisations identify and untangle complex problems, experiment towards impactful solutions, interventions for change, or strategic hooks which resonate throughout a company. The what differs depending on the task at hand; the why often doesn’t - which is to find creative solutions to real (human) problems.

And, to be able to do so, you need real (human) insights. Mine are driven by a genuine passion for and understanding of human behaviour, coupled with a desire to use innovation as a tool to drive positive impact. Through that lens, understanding human needs to find business opportunities remains important, but not without considering the consequences.

    • If we want to design for behavioural change, we should also consider the impact of the systems within which a behaviour occurs, and vice versa.

    • If we want to launch a new service, we should also consider its ecological impact or what different futures might look like if this service became widespread.

    • If we want to build a new (digital) product, we should also consider the natural resources, its distribution systems, or impact on mental health.

This means that we have to broaden our lens, rethink the questions we were asking, and challenge what we define as innovative solutions. For me, that starts with how we do research.
